Wow! That was a fast fix turnaround with Tkaraoke v1.3.0.025. I was be able to add and play AVI songs. Thank you so much! However, it can only play one AVI song. After that, it stopped play and dísplayed this error messsage: "TKaraoke encountered an unrecoverable error. Press OK to quit TKaraoke. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Value of '1001' is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'Minimum and 'Maximum.' Parameter name: Value.
<OK> button" Same error received when either played one song at a time or play many songs in que. Once received the error, the only option is to click the OK button to close the Tkaraoke. Hope it is an easy bug to fix. Once again, you developers are awesome! Your hard work is greatly appreciated and thank you!

Thank you for the test file. This problem has been fixed in version 1.3.0.026. 026 is a stable release version and it is available for download now.

Hi vcdz382,

What was the cause of the error 1001? I saw this error once but could not reproduce it again. Does it have anything to do with avi files renamed to .vob? I have 1 DVD that was encoded to avi then rename to .vob so I can play them in tKaraoke.

Some avi file timing was off so it caused VLC to seek to a time more than a theorical maximum. Version 1.3.0.026 should fix this issue once and for all.

Does it only affect .avi or .mkv & vob as well?

This is a rare case. So far, it was reported on an Avi file and we only saw it on Avi files. If you renamed your avi file to a vob, this doesn't change the fact the file is an avi file. The decoder used to play the file will be an avi decoder, not vob.

vcdz382,

Thank you for the quick fix. It works perfectly! Your technical support beats the big guys like Microsoft, Cisco, etc... Very fast turnaround time on fixing bugs and answering questions in forum. Why don't you add Google Ad Sense or other add banners on your websites so we Tkaraoke home users, who use your software for free, can show our appreciation by clicking on the ads each time we visit your website? That way it helps pay for your server maintenance and hopefully a bit of your technical support and software development time. Just my 2 cents! hihihi

I know renaming the extension will not change it's container, I wanted to know if it affect other extensions. I encoded a few DVDs to mkv with MediaCoder, and I hope it is not affected by the seek error. I now use tkaraoke tools since the dual audio fix from version 11.

I would say that this seek error issue only happen on AVI files with low bitrate and low keyframe frequency. However, there isn't enough data to validate this claim. The good news is TKaraoke will handle this issue properly starting with version 1.3.0.026.

MediaCoder is not a bad tool to use. I actually used it before. There are a few limitations that prompted us to write TKT's "Vob to Mkv" function. A show-stopper with MediaCoder is that it doesn't support input file names in unicode. I saw a few requests on MediaCoder forum asking for unicode file name support a few years back with no answer. This just indicates that there is no hope to request this support. The next issue is that it crashes often (at least for the versions I was using about a year ago). Nothing sux more than setting up a batch job at night hoping to get everything encoded in the morning but woke up to find out the tool crashed on the 5th file. The next issue is that MediaCoder set "Undefined" for the audio track name and audio track language and there is no option to specify your own audio track name/language. It's just ugly to show "Undefined" on the big screen. TKT's "Change MKV Audio" can reset the track label from "Undefined" to something more meaningful like "Nhac (Vietnamese)".

With that said, both MediaCoder and TKT use the same under-the-hood encoder to encode so I wouldn't worry about the seek issue with MediaCoder-encoded files.

Thank you, That's just what I wanted to hear. I did not want to recode all those DVDs. I knew they both uses memcoder to encode but just wanted to make sure. tkaraoke tools is much better at encoding Vietnamese karaoke songs because of unicode support and simplify interface.

Thanks again for both the player and tools :d/

We finally take tystink's idea about advertising for google on tkaraoke.com. Because tkaraoke.com site is a multi-language site (English and Vietnamese), google won't advertise on us because "it's not an English site." However, tkaraoke.com for the last 3 months has increase traffic about 10 times (about 1000 visits a day now). The website is busy enough for google to advertise on us :). Hopefully members will click on relevant ads to help us out Drool
