That way when someone start the program they won't have to deal with random song popping up and then ask me "how do I stop the song". And while we're on this topic I wonder the usefulness of this feature. I mean do people actually resume singing from where they left off last time? I would guess the majority do not, so IMHO by default the player should start fresh. Just my 2 cents.
Also is there a stop button somewhere?
The stop button is basically the skip button. You can pause it or skip it. If you skip and there is no song in the queue, the player effectively stops.
Think about what a user need to do to resume playback where they left off on the last run. If we take this feature off, how hard is it for the user to resume exactly where he/she left off? Very hard - you might forgot which song it was and what duration it was. Now let's compare with how hard is it for you to start fresh - all you have to do is hold down CTRL. Or if you really don't want it to use CTRL, stops the player before you exit --> there won't be anything to resume on the next run.
