Tkaraoke automatically closes when I try to play some songs with MP4 extension. (However, they work just fine on stand-alone VLC Player or Media Player Classic) The strange thing is that other songs ripped from the same DVD by the same encoder play just fine. Here are some screenshots. |

Upload a sample mp4 file that TKaraoke crashed on to our FTP and we'll take a look and try to fix this error.

Okay. I just uploaded "Saigon Top Hits 7 - ... - 2 + 1 = 0. mp4" (Sorry for the large size; I couldn't cut the file into a smaller sample for some reason.) Thanks.

Thanks for the sample file. How many of these "bad mp4 files" do you have?

I have quite a few songs that give this error. I even considered extracting the filename into "file properties summary" meta tags {Title, Subject, Author} so that I can easily sort the list by Song name / Singer's name / DVD name. That way, I can just use standalone VLC player or Media Player Classic to play my karaoke without any problem. (The downside to this method is that I would have to manually type in all this information for EVERY song. While 'extracting filename to tags' can easily be done for MP3, I have yet to find a program that can do this for other types of file.) Anyway, here is a picture of what I mean. |

I recommend you not using the encoder you are using. TKT can encode for you in several clicks and the encoded files work great with TKaraoke. Version 1.4.0.064 has been released and should be able to play these songs without crashing. However, to be safe, you should avoid using the encoder that encoded these mp4 files.

Yeah, I encoded those MP4 with HandBrake (that was when I didn't know Tkaraoke exists). I was hoping that I would not have to re-rip those DVDs. Thank you for the new version! You are the bomb!
