but there's a problem.
In another thread, I mentioned I was using this method to get song numbers in order and song names in alphabetical order:
Quote:For example if your filenames are like these:
Author A - Singer A - Song B.vob
Author B - Singer A - Song A.vob
then the Song Generated Catalog will be like this with the numbers:
0001 - Song B (Singer A)
0002 - Song A (Singer A)
notice that song numbers are in order but song names are not in alphabetical order.
To get around this, I renamed all the author names in my files into numbers. That is instead of a filename like this: Author A - Singer A - Song A.vob, I would rename it to this: 0001 - Singer A - Song A.vob. Increase the number in the beginning of the filename accordingly.
My problem is this. I have around 3,000 .vob and .mpg files in one folder. After I renamed all my files as the example above, I managed to get the song numbers in order plus the song names in alphabetical order. But the problem is, all the files with .mpg extension are grouped in alphabetical order of their own. That is, I managed to get 2,000 .vob files in alphabetical and with the song numbers in order, but the .mpg files would start over in alphabetical order yet continuing with the song numbers.
Example:
0001 Ai Bảo Em Là Giai Nhân (Gia Huy)
0002 Ai Buồn Hơn Ai (Hoàng Lan)
0002 Ai Cho Tôi Tình Yêu (Bruce Đoàn)
....
....
continues to
1998 Trăng Tàn Trên Hè Phố (Phương Diễm Hạnh)
1999 Trăng Úa Sao Mờ (Thanh Hà)
2000 Trăng Vỡ (Đan Trường)
then it would continue with:
2001 Anh Không Muốn Ra Đi (Nguyễn Phi Hùng)
2002 Anh Mang Giat Mo Em Ve Dau (Cẩm Ly)
2003 Anh Phai Lam Sao (Đan Trường)
At this point the song numbers are still in order but the song names are no longer in alphabetical order.
How would I get around this problem? Is there a way to override the file extension identification so that the songs are listed in alphabetical order no matter the file extensions?
