I am using TKaraoke Tools v1.0.0.023. I tried to convert some VOB files to MKV. It just gets stuck at 0% for a long time. I just use all default parameter settings and click ok. I had to cancel the conversion, since it doesn't seem it's progressing.
I am using HP Windows 7 Home Premium laptop, with Dual-Core AMD M300.
What's going wrong?
BTW, am I loosing video and audio quality when going from VOB to MKV?
Thanks much!

Guess what, it successfully converted the 99MB file. Somehow, the .mkv file is still at 99MB. It took about 8min.
Just finished the conversation for another file, 560MB VOB...the .mkv file is 350MB. It took 37min.
I wish the tool was showing progress % while the conversion is going on. Showing only 0% is misleading i would think.
Anyhow, it wasn't a bug. It is just slow. sorry for the confusion.
It looks like there's a slight quality degredation from .vob to .mkv.
Thanks!

You can change the settings to improve the Mkv quality. Looks like your laptop is very slow - time for an upgrade :). TKT does give you progress % update on a long job (converting more than 1 files). Rather than spending the CPU power finding out the % complete within a file, it just like your CPU focus on converting.

Actually, I just bought that HP laptop 2 months ago, brand new....$500 :) Maybe an Intel based laptop will be faster?
