Due to limitations of MediaCoder (doesn't support unicode file names, buggy and crashes sometimes), the tutorial below is no longer a recommanded method of converting VOB files to MKV files.TKaraoke supports many video formats including VOB, Divx, MPG, MP4, and MKV. MKV is the x264 container offering high quality video at smaller file size. Many believed x264 is the best video encoder out there and
TKaraokeTools supports audio modifications on MKV files. Divx users might want to consider using x264. The space saving on MKV files compared to VOB should be around 60% to 80%.

TKaraokeToolsTo convert VOB karaoke files to MKV karaoke files to use with TKaraoke, there are 9 simple steps.
Step 1.
Code:Drag and Drop all your VOB files to MediaCoder. Note that at the time of this writing, MediaCoder doesn't support unicode file names. Hence, your file names in this step must be non-unicode. TKaraokeTools supports unicode file names so your file names in step 6 can be in unicode.
Step 2.
Code:Select the Output folder in MediaCoder
Step 3.
Code:On the Audio tab in MediaCoder, check the Copy Audio checkbox
Step 4.
Code:On the Video tab in MediaCoder, select "Three-Pass" for the mode, "H.264" for the Format, and "Matroska" for the Container
Step 5.
Code:Click on Start to begin converting
After a while, all your VOB files should be converted to MKV files on the selected Output folder. These MKV files will have "undefined" as the audio tracks' language. Also, depending on your VOB files, the default audio track might be Nhac (with singer voice) or Karaoke (without singer voice). To be consistent across all of your songs, the default audio track should be the Nhac track. TKaraokeTools can help pick the right default audio track and label your audio tracks accordingly. That is, the default audio track should be named Nhac (with singer voice) and the non-default audio track should be named Karaoke (without singer voice). The language for both audio tracks should be Vietnamese.
Step 6.
Code:In TKaraokeTools, pick the source folder (the folder selected in step 2)
Step 7.
Code:Select the destination folder
Step 8.
Code:Pick the correct options in TKaraokeTools. If your VOB files default track is Nhac, your Options should be Track1Name=Nhac, Track2name=Karaoke, DefaultTrack=Track1. If your VOB files default track is Karaoke, your Options should be Track1Name=Karaoke, Track2Name=Nhac, DefaultTrack=Track2
Step 9.
Code:Pick the number of Thread. If you have a dual core machine, select 2. If you have a Quadcore machine with a fast hard drive, select 4. If you have a slow machine, select 1. To start fixing the MKV files, click on "Modify MKV Files"

1. The audio track with the singer voice should be named "Nhac"
2. The audio track without the singer voice should be named "Karaoke"
3 The default track should be the Nhac track (doesn't matter if it's Track1 or Track2)
4. Both audio tracks' language should be Vietnamese
With the above properties, when switching the audio track, TKaraoke will display:
