Hi, I saw that there is a lot of discussion about song naming structure. Why don't we have an .ini file that specify the structure of the song name ? For example, the .ini file can have entry like this : Songname = Writer-Singer-userDefined1-UserDefined2-Songname
or any combination of these fields

Keep in mind that a user might have up to 5000+ songs loaded at once. Having ini file will make it possible to rename songs differently which make it hard to share online. How many songs do you have? We can add an additional field called the "notes" field that you can use to further classify your songs...

Hi vcdz382, I have around 4000 VOB files which are already named in my following format : SongName-ArtistName-Author-AlbumName. This is of course my personal preference to have the filename started with the songname. If I have an .ini file which allows TKaraoke to follow this filename structure, I don't have to rename my files to the current fixed structure.
I hope it is possible for the TKaraoke's author to allow TKaraoke to read the .ini file when atrting to add songs to the catalog.
Thank you for your great support...it is a wondeful software. I am presently using Family Media Center which has different interesting features but is far less feature-rich as TKaraoke.
Regards.

Regards. Feature added to our list of requested features. Keep checking back for updated version of TKaraoke that implemented this feature :).

Hi vcdz382, I am delighted to hear that you will take this feature request into consideration for next release. May I ask for one additionna thing : please allow user to specify the separator betwen fields as well and if any possible, add a few user-defined fields as in my other thread.
Regards

Hi vcdz382, Beside this request, I have submitted other requests in other threads. I would like to bring them back at one place so you can considered all at once :
1. Add a style field in the songlist window to qualify the style of the song (Chacha, Rhumba, Tango etc…) This require adding a field called ‘Style’ in songname.
2. Add some ‘User-defined’ fields in songname. This require adding columns for user-defined fields in songlist window
3. Ability to specify field-separator character in songname (‘-‘ or any user-specified character).
4. Ability to allow users to name their song according to their own structure to be defined in an entry of an .INI file Example : FIELDSEP = ‘-‘ SONGNAMESTR = Writer-Singer-Style-User1-User2-NameOfSong.VOB
5. If lyrics are not available for a song, allow users to refer to a local file for the lyrics.
6. Support for Dual monitor
Once again, many thanks for your great works and support to make the karaoke hobby much more pleasant and enjoyable
