Hi,
I am new and testing Tkaraoke on my laptop with a loud floor standing stereo system. Any suggestions on which microphone would sound best?

Do you need a wire or wireless microphone?

Wireless microphone if possible. Just hooked up the MXL MXS1USB Studio 1 USB - USB Microphone from B&H I received earlier today. There must be some kind cofflicts b/c no sounds coming out of the computer. Thanks for the quick reply!

I don't have a wireless microphone so I don't know which one is good but I'm sure other users should be able to help you out. Are you hooking the microphone to your PC? It's better to hookup the microphone directly to the Mixer.

I don't think he has a mixer. He hooks his microphone to the computer and the computer directly to his entertainment system. I think.

What's the Entertainment System? That's not a mixer?

Yes, I only have the home theater system without the mixer. So the hooking the microphone directly to the laptop is a bad idea! Any suggestions regarding brands of a good mixer or micrphone? Thx again for the replies.

You should be able to buy a low-budget mixer for under $80.00US and a wired microphone for about $25.00US to start. I wouldn't buy anything more expensive to hook to your home theater system since home theater systems are not really designed for Karaoke.

Take a look at this thread http://www.tkaraoke.com/forum/tkaraoke_postsm4914_USB-karaoke-mixer.aspx#4914

buy Nady dkw-duo. It's available from Target. It's not the best but worth every penny.
