Hi, I am new and testing Tkaraoke on my laptop with a loud floor standing stereo system. Any suggestions on which microphone would sound best?

I don't have a wireless microphone so I don't know which one is good but I'm sure other users should be able to help you out. Are you hooking the microphone to your PC? It's better to hookup the microphone directly to the Mixer.

I don't think he has a mixer. He hooks his microphone to the computer and the computer directly to his entertainment system. I think. I am older than the Earth :)

Yes, I only have the home theater system without the mixer. So the hooking the microphone directly to the laptop is a bad idea! Any suggestions regarding brands of a good mixer or micrphone? Thx again for the replies.

Any suggestions regarding brands of a good mixer or micrphone? Thx again for the replies. You should be able to buy a low-budget mixer for under $80.00US and a wired microphone for about $25.00US to start. I wouldn't buy anything more expensive to hook to your home theater system since home theater systems are not really designed for Karaoke. Take a look at this thread http://www.tkaraoke.com/forum/tkaraoke_postsm4914_USB-karaoke-mixer.aspx#4914 I am older than the Earth :)

buy Nady dkw-duo. It's available from Target. It's not the best but worth every penny.
