Not possible unless they just have mp3 for the audio and some rotating pictures for the video (slide show). For a full motion video at DVD resolution, an MP4 will take about 75MB to 100MB per song. 51GB hold maximum 600 songs. If the MP4 are stripped down to lower resolution (for example, iPhone resolution), it might be possible to fit 2000 songs in 51GB.

Looks like their songs have 352x240 resolution. Audio bitrate is 128kbps (not too bad). Video bitrate is only 84kbps. TKT-encoded MKV will not compress the audio (original audio) with typically 1000 to 2000 kbps video bitrate (depends on the original disc quality). 84 kbps is way too low to look good on HD displays. Anyone bought this disk from Unify Karaoke yet? I wanna see some sample Vietnamese karaoke songs. I wonder how they get the permission to distribute. Probably the music is old (songs recorded in the USA almost always are copyrighted).

That's not bad. The first English Sample File (110431.avi) has only 84kbps video. To fit 2000 songs into 51GB, the average size per song is 25.5MB. With 25.5MB per song and assuming average 5 minutes in length per song, their average bit rate for both audio and video combined is 680Kbps (680Kbps * 1Byte/8Bit * 5 * 60 = 25.5MB). With the audio fixed at 128Kbps, the average video bit rate per file is then 680-128 = 552Kbps. This is OK for 352x240 resolution. It will not look good if you scale this up to HD resolution (1900x1080 or 1900x1200). Pretty cheap to get 2000 songs for $239 though. I'm just afraid the kinda of music they offer is crappy due to the fact that newer songs are copyrighted so they can only give you old songs.

Not up-convert... What's your TV resolution? Chances are it's HD. When playing full-screen, the software has to scale up to fit the screen - there is no choice unless you want to run in windowed mode (a small video Window on a big screen TV doesn't look too good).

Your Sony 1080p TV native resoltuion is 1920x1080. When you set the resolution to 1024x768, it should look very crappy because this is 4:3 and not 16:9 resolution. Even when you set it to a 16:9 resolution (1280x720 for example), if this resolution is not the LCD's native resolution, the TV's software gotta kick in to scale the pixels to render on the native matrix. This often times reduce quality - for this reason, you probably will find somewhere in the TV manual fine print that said "for best quality, please run at 1920x1080 resolution...". I would just run it at its native resolution and you are relying on the video player to scale up the video according. My setup is similar (same 2nd Sony TV but my first is a 52" 1080p Sharp) and has not problem with video quality scaling up at 1080p.
